The pain of being in love but never becoming one

When we think of love, we think of the happy love, the kind that is the beginning of something beautiful — something that breathes life.

There is, however, another kind of love, a much darker and sadder kind of love. It’s the love one feels when one loves someone he or she can never and will never have. Two people just met and literally fell for one another. Don’t cry, this is a reality. About true couple who suffered internally. The fact is, love is a deaf. All those fairytales, all those stories and movies you’ve heard and watched growing up, lied to you.

2016 was the year, two lovely couple fell in love. His Mediterranean skin, dark brown eyes and his unique essence made him irresistible. Both lay next to each other, holding hands tight and looking up at the sky, hoping for happiness. He can’t resist her tan skin colour. Big round eyes, grey in colour captivating him like a magnet. Her beautiful smile melted his soul and trick him and he is feeling the contagious out of her. What a unique couple, yet a match for each other. Love is a tricky thing. It varies in intensity and in the specificity of emotions. It is sometimes the most beautiful thing in the world and, at other times, it’s the most horrid thing we’ve ever come face-to-face with.

Here come the saddest part. He is living in the west and she in the east. Thousands miles apart, six hours in time and 12hours flight in distance. It’s the love that doesn’t signal the beginning of something beautiful, but rather the end of something that might have been beautiful, but will never amount to anything more than what it is.

A tear drop fell from his and her eyes. That was the moment of silence…. Both have to be apart. Back to reality world. He sent her off to the airport and kiss her goodbye. The saddest part, waiting, mourning at one another, not knowing when is another moment will come by? You will not love everything about the person you are with, but you love enough about him or her to live with the things you don’t love. Not all people are willing to, or even able to, compromise. Sometimes it just doesn’t work, regardless of what our emotions tell us.

Compromising is a choice. You either make it work or you choose not to. I believe this fully. As long as something doesn’t go against your nature, over time you can make it work.

Because love is as intense an emotion as one gets, it occasionally leads us to make poor choices — choices hurtful to the ones we love.

Each time they depart from each other, there was the moment, both missing crazily. Is utterly cruel. Love is unfaithful. Love is deaf. Love can be beautifully sweet-sour-bitter all come at once. But the problem is, they’re still carrying all that luggage. And eventually, they unpack. All the demons come out.

Often, both have bruises that have never fully healed and likely will never fully heal. And that’s just something you decided that you’ll have to live with. Why?

Because you really don’t have any other options. You just hope that the two of you find others to love so you can think about each other less and so you don’t have to worry about her happiness anymore. Will you wait hoping new love can take the place of the old — which is possible. But is impossible for this two love birds. Both are inseparable.

But that doesn’t mean he will ever stop loving her? He will always love her. And she will always love him. But both can never be together. Could be destiny?

Or their love for each other will last until the day they die, spending most their lives apart…?

And so is the darker side of love shall thy.
